Release notes for Merlyn Mind Symphony Classroom v11.0 (released 20 October 2022)

This release introduces new design elements for the Symphony Classroom home screen and the Teacher Portal (teacher.merlyn.org) as well as enhancements for the Symphony Classroom settings and pairing process. The release also addresses issues related to the Symphony Classroom sleep mode and video quality.

Note: These updates create a dependency on Desktop App version 1.0.28 or greater. To manually update your Desktop Application, please visit the downloads page.

Enhancements

• Updated design of the Symphony Classroom home screen.
• Added a new notification on the Symphony Classroom for remote control unit low battery.
• Added support for D-Pad navigation of the settings menu.
• New visual prompt addressing the new Google Chrome Extensions security requirement for the Teacher Portal to remain open.
• Improvements to pairing and magic pairing ensuring recovery from pairing failures or reboot of the Symphony Classroom.

Bug Fixes

• Addressed issues some users experienced when the Symphony Classroom wakes after sleep mode.
• Addressed an issue whereby the Symphony Classroom may inadvertently wake from sleep based on external display.
• Addressed an issue whereby a user inadvertently puts the Symphony Classroom in “Do Not Disturb” mode.
• Addressed issues with video signal including colorization on certain 4K TV models.
• Addressed issues with video signal when HDCP content is played from laptop.
• Addressed issue where “Open Link” command fails in Microsoft Office 365 PowerPoint.
