Pairing the remote control

To pair your remote, follow the step-by-step guide during the onboarding process.

You can also pair a new remote by saying “Hey Merlyn, pair my remote” and follow the on-screen instructions, or by going to Settings and selecting the 'Remote' option. There you can select the option to pair or unpair your remote.

NB: If you are unable to use the remote’s Air Mouse, connect a regular mouse to the Symphony Classroom using the USB port on the back of the device. You can then say “Hey Merlyn, open settings” and navigate through the settings using the mouse.

Using the Push-to-talk button on your remote control

While pressing the Push-to-talk button 2265fig3.png, you can say commands such as “Play the video”, “Fast forward two minutes and twelve seconds”, “Mute”, “Pause the video”, “Go to full screen”, etc, directly into the remote's microphone.

Hold down the Push-to-talk button on the top of your remote and speak your full command. Do not let go of the button until you have finished saying your command.

When you hold down this button, you do not need to begin your command with “Hey Merlyn.” The Symphony Classroom microphone will disable, and Merlyn will only listen to the command that is spoken into the remote.

If you mute the Symphony Classroom device, you can still talk to Merlyn by using the Push-to-Talk button on your remote.

Using the Air Mouse

Download the Merlyn Mind Desktop App and sign in to the app on the teacher’s device to use the Air Mouse.

Use your Air Mouse to navigate throughout your desktop just as you would use a mouse at your desk. Use the buttons on your remote to control media.

Lost your remote?

Just say, "Hey Merlyn, Where is my remote?" and Merlyn will play a sound to help you find it.
